WTVD -- Seasonably warm and humid conditions will prevail for this weekend as high temperatures are forecast to peak around 90 degrees Fahrenheit both Saturday and Sunday. The Triangle should remain largely dry through this afternoon with sunshine and limited cloud coverage overhead, but isolated shower and thunderstorm activity will be more likely throughout the Carolinas tomorrow, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours. Overall, thunderstorms that do develop are expected to be short-lived and shouldn't produce any heavy downpours or damaging winds.

By early next week, an upper-level ridge is forecast to develop off the southeastern Atlantic coast, strengthening enough to keep the majority of the Carolinas dry through at least Tuesday; the best chance for any isolated shower or thunderstorm development will be during the afternoon hours well west over the Piedmont and the Appalachians. Otherwise, temperatures will once again peak near the degree mark as humid air lingers in the region.
